The end is near...

I am grateful that the semester is almost over...Everybody is getting on my nerves: students and teachers. I look over the past semester and see some progress in some of my students. Unfortunately, I in a situation where most of my students don't want to be involved in my class. They seem to think that it is some sort of social hour and the coffee shop. I usually can deal with the noise and the tattling, but today was the worst.

Overall, I believe that I'm in a good situation.....if you want to teach strings. I've just reach a point in my life that I am ready for a change. It's funny because I felt the same way when I left my last job five years ago. They offered me tenure and I still left. What prompted that move was a transfer that I DID NOT know about and the lack of support from principals and supervisors. I taught band at five different schools and everyone wanted a program with 100 kids. The problem was that no one wanted to buy/rent instruments and since it was a pull out program, the teachers didn't want me to pull the children. Hard to have a program when you don't get support.

That's where I'm at. I don't want to say too much about it. I don't want to be the first to lose a teaching job for just blogging. TTYL
