I have been wanting to blog more, but life just gets in the way. In a way, it's ironic because my life is what I want to blog about. Anyway, here are a few updates.
1. Jody (my oldest daughter) had to spend a few days in the hospital. It was REAL scary for a minute. Here Hgb count (hemoglobin) was down to 2. Normal is anything above 10. She had to have a blood transfusion immediately. Luckily, her blood type is the one that can receive any blood (AB+ I think, not sure). Within 15 minutes of beginning the transfusion, her color of her skin had returned. The next morning, she was bouncing around. We've had to change her diet to a high iron diet, cut back on the milk. It turns out that Jody is very anemic. As parents, we should have realized this because both of us have had bouts with anemia. Jody is also taking a multivitamin with iron. Now, she's into everything like she was before. She's eating more and more; she will get stuff from your plate if you're not watching.
2. I performed in the Georgia Perimeter College production of "Parade", the lynching of Atlanta businessman Leo Frank in 1914. I played Soprano sax, alto sax, clarinet and flute. It was a tough but fun book. The original has English horn and oboe, but a oboist was hired to cover those parts. I hope to get the opportunity to do the Fall 2010 musical.
3.With everything that was going on with my children, I hope to get back on track with the CD productions. Look for some items to appear soon.
