New semester

After the snow of Jan 2011, we finally got the 2nd semester started. I'm already behind and I don't think there is any way to catch up. The one good thing about the snow is that I got some quality time with the family.

Some good news

It looks like I'll be able to record the jazz CD this year. let's just say that the right opportunity is falling in my lap and I believe I will take advantage of it.

That's all for now. Talk to you soon.

Extended Vacation

Because of the snow and Ice, No one in the Atlanta area has been to school all week. We may go on Thursday, but that depends on the condition of the roads. We Southerners are not used to driving in ice here.

In the mean time, I got some quality time with the family and I have been able to write a couple of tunes. Next week at Java Monkey, I hope that these tunes will get performed.

That's about it...TTL

Wow...A New Year

Happy New Year! It's 2011 and I haven't blogged since September. Over the course of the fall semester, I taught 2 college courses and got settled into my new school. The students are the typical k-5 students...very bright but act like children.

I had to put a hold on the projects due to work and just life in general. I have a 3 year old daughter who is anemic and we're working hard to get her back to health. Jody thinks she's a big girl now...she doesn't want to take a nap during the day. My 1 year old (Joni) is super independent. I didn't mind putting off the projects....my family is more important than releasing a CD or playing a bunch of gigs.

Here is what I want to accomplish this year (2011)

1. Release a couple of CDS

2. blog more, gig more, write more music,etc...

3. make a transition in my career....College teaching and private students.

4. lose some weight....I'm fat and I need to deal with it.

5. return to a spiritual life....a life without God is no life at all.

I can go on and on but the point is I want to be different and be in a different place (in a good way).

Now I'm going to go enjoy the snow...later
